Oliver Kwan is a serial TMT (Tech, Media and Telecom) and FinTech entrepreneur in Asia with over 20 years' experience of managing growth. He is the Founder and Chairman of Singapore based Motion G, Inc. which develops and operates an AI-powered generative engineering platform.
He is also the founding partner of New Wheel Capital, an investment firm that specializes in early-stage ventures. Previously, Oliver founded and served as CEO of 99Bill Corporation, a mobile Fintech company offering wealth management, consumer credit and payment services. 99Bill's revenue reached USD600M with 100M user accounts in 2016, and was subsequently acquired by DaLian Wanda Group, one of the largest real estate developers in China.
Prior to 99Bill, Oliver was the angel investor and SVP of NetEase, Inc. (Nasdaq: NTES). Oliver graduated from Shanghai JiaoTong University with a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering in 1988. After which, he attended the University of Arizona, where he obtained a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering in 1992 and dropped off from the PhD program in Systems Engineering. Currently, he is a member of Asia Chancellor's Council at the University of California, Berkeley.
With more than 30 years of working at ABB specialising in Electrification and Automation solutions, Chunyuan Gu started his career as a researcher at ABB Corporate Research in Sweden and has held various senior technology and business positions within the organization.
His last assignment with ABB was as a Member of the Group Executive Committee, the Region President of the Asia, Middle East and Africa, and the President of ABB China. He was responsible for a sales revenue of over USD 14B during his tenure. His career journey in ABB has enabled him to gain extensive market knowledge, build a strong global network, and obtain deep insight into technology developments and trends in automation and digitalisation.
Mr. Gu currently serves as an Independent Non-executive board of director at CLP Ltd and NXP Semiconductors N.V.. He is also a Senior Advisor at Blackstone Inc. and the Chairman of Board for ABB China. Mr. Gu holds a PhD degree of Engineering from School of Aeronautics at the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm Sweden. He is a Swedish citizen and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Science (IVA).
